Tile

The Museum of Lisbon is home to the second most important collection of tiles in Portugal. This section came about mainly as a result of changes to the city’s built heritage during the 20th century, and demonstrates Lisbon’s significance as the main historical tile production centre in Portugal. The collection covers almost all historical periods, from Mudéjar tiles from the late Middle Ages to contemporary versions from recent decades.
