Beneath and above. Paintings by Brahona Possollo at the Roman Theatre is the new exhibition at the Museum of Lisbon  - Roman Theatre. A new world inaugurated in this space, a world of gods and myths, that have accompanied us, indelibly, throughout the centuries.

These are gods between the divine and the human, between the sinful and the celestial, the beautiful and the evil. Contrarieties that always accompany us because we too are made of dust.

Degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Lisbon University, in 1995 he accepted an invitation to teach at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon. He was officially commissioned to paint the Portrait of the Portuguese president Aníbal Cavaco Silva, shown at the Presidents’ Gallery permanent collection in the Museum of the Presidency of the Republic.

Since 1995 he has been co-operating with the Portuguese Mail in the production of originals for the printing of stamps, notably their commemorative series of the 500th anniversary of Vasco da Gama’s arrival in India (1996-98).

His works can be found in private collections in Portugal, Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, USA and Argentina, and also, in public collections such as the Vatican (IOR), The White House, the Bank of Portugal, the Portuguese Museum of Communications, The Setubal Museum, and the Union of Portuguese Speaking Capital Cities.
