Fados for Saint Anthony
The Museum of Lisbon - Santo António recalls the relationship between Fado and the devotion to Saint Anthony that is so typical of Lisbon Fado with an intimate concert in an authentic Fado house atmosphere. Maura Airez's performance starts at 7pm, following a guided visit to the Museum of Lisbon - Santo António at 6.30pm.
Despite her youth, Maura transmits a powerful magnetism. At only 24, she has a firmness in her voice which, in its joviality, brings us classics that she had been listening to for some time and has only now allowed herself to sing.
While preparing to pursue a career in fashion at an international festival, she won a prize in the category of best talent with a fado performance before a jury of representatives from 60 countries. She was the winner of the first edition of the contest "O Meu Fado", promoted by Rádio Sim, Museu do Fado and Universal Music.
Accumulating experience that only fado houses can provide, she has been present in the most important fado events in Portugal. She was considered the great revelation of the 2016 edition of the Caixa Alfama Festival, and in 2017 she participated in the Morocco Fado Festival, along with Carminho, Luís Guerreiro and Rodrigo Costa Félix. She also made her presence felt at the NOS Alive Festival on the EDP Fado Café Stage. In 2018, she gave her first solo concert in the small auditorium of the Centro Cultura de Belém CCB.
Maura again performed on the main stage of the fado festival in Alfama, Santa Casa Alfama and, in 2021, released her first album 21Maura.
