During archaeological diagnosis performed within the scope of a project to alter and enlarge the buildings at Largo do Contador-Mor (nos. 1, 1A, 1B, 1C, 2) and at Rua de São Tiago (nos. 2, 4, 6 and 8), several vestiges of preserved archaeological structures and contexts were uncovered, attributable to Late Antiquity and to the Islamic, Medieval and Modern eras.

Meanwhile, intervention in the walls unveiled important elements that were reused in the architecture of the current building, some of which date back to the 15th and 16th centuries.
