When did Lisbon "come out of the closet"? How was its path on its emancipation?
The history of homosexuality has been ignored, if not deliberately hidden from public eye for centuries. On this walking tour we will meet figures, spaces and stories that belong to Lisbon's LGBTQI+ community, from the Middle Ages to the present day.

Departing from Largo de São Domingos, where the Inquisition was once in charge, passing through Cais do Sodré and Bica, this journey ends in Bairro Alto, centre stage for Lisbon's night-life that harboured the LGBTQI+ affirmation movement from the 1980s onwards.
