The gardens of the Museum of Lisbon – Pimenta Palace are hosting an unprecedented Jazz Picnic. Bring a rug and a picnic and set yourself up on our lawn to enjoy jazz classics in the open air, played on a century-old gramophone and by the young saxophonist Álvaro Pinto, with a contextual presentation by João Moreira dos Santos, author of a dozen books and of the radio programme Jazz A2 (Antena 2).

On Saturday 7 September, the session takes place at 6pm and is aimed at the general public, while on Sunday, at 11am, the repertoire to be presented is more aimed at families and children.

Let yourself be carried away by the contagious and vibrant sounds of jazz swing from the 1920s to the 1950s and celebrate with the Museum of Lisbon the 100th anniversary of both the birth of Luís Villas-Boas, one of the main promoters of jazz in Portugal, and of the first jazz concert in Portugal by a foreign group.
