Presentation of the catalogue From the Altar to the Street. Saint Anthony in Delfim Manuel's ceramics

The 13 new pieces featured in the exhibition From the Altar to the Street: Saint Anthony in Delfim Manuel's ceramics are highlighted in the exhibition catalogue that will be launched on 7 January at 4pm at Museum of Lisbon – Santo António. The exhibition will remain open until 29 January 2023.

As Pedro Teotónio Pereira, coordinator of the Museum of Lisbon – Santo António explains, «Saint Anthony has been present in Delfim Manuel's work since he started working in his first workshop. For each year since 1997 the artist has created a new image of the Saint, a limited-edition work which is never repeated and which delights collectors».

In the text published in the catalogue, Alexandre Pais points out that despite the continuous return to the image of the Saint, «Delfim Manuel's capacity for innovation and renewal is one of the qualities that sets his art apart as a ceramicist working in the true tradition of the great names that preceded him and whose works today make a key contribution to the history of Portuguese art».
