Inspired by objects exhibited at the Museum of Lisbon, the cycle of themed tours and talks The Museum and the City looks at the history of Lisbon from a more global perspective, without losing sight of the broader chronological and cultural context.

Each month, the programme explores relations between what visitors can find in the multiple collections of the Museum of Lisbon and other historical realities that help understand Lisbon. Some of these can still be found in the city, while others are exhibited in other museums and yet others are explored only by the scientific community.
