Couples in History: Identities/Affinities aims to reflect on Portuguese couples who stood out in different areas of knowledge, contributing to the affirmation of our national culture.
Couples in History presents identities and affinities which may or may not have always been compatible, but which history portrays and evokes jointly.
Since the beginning of Portugal's national affirmation, there have been couples who have distinguished themselves from others, and who are evoked in our daily lives as references to themes in our culture, as a part of our ideological and conceptual heritage.
In this course, taught by Professor Augusto Moutinho Borges, we will look at these couples as examples and as a network, reflecting on their political and social roles and various themes grouped. The course is divided into two parts: "Kings and Queens," held between February and April 2023; and now, between October and November, "Artists and thinkers."
