With two lectures per month over three months, the Museum of Lisbon – Roman Theatre is carrying out a cycle of presentations on developing museums around archaeological sites. This is an increasingly pressing issue, given the diversity of solutions and the growing number of examples emerging. Without seeking to provide an exhaustive list of archaeological sites for which museums have been developed,

several notable cases have been selected for discussion from across Portugal. Some are well-known to the general public, while others are less. All feature unique solutions for safeguarding and enhancing our archaeological heritage.
