Call for posters for the Internacional Congress Roman Temples in Lusitania

The Museum of Lisbon - Roman Theatre calls for the participation on the International Congress Roman Temples in Lusitania, to be held on 13, 14 and 15 March 2025, in Lisbon. 

This participation will be in poster format, presented and displayed throughout the duration of the congress. We seek to encourage the input of students and researchers who develop work on the topic of religious temples in Roman times or other aspects that relate to this theme.  

Art History, Architecture, Archaeology, Museology, Conservation and Restoration are some of the areas covered. The intention is to stimulate participation, fuelling the diversity of studies and public presentations and contributing to new research perspectives. 

Proposals submitted until 9th December 2024 will be accepted for consideration, complying with the following standards: 
– Summary text of up to 500 words, in Portuguese, Spanish and/or English;
– Indication of title, succinct and clear explanation of the theme, objectives and some of the final considerations of the work; 
– Three to five keywords;
– The names of the author(s) and institutional affiliation must appear in the body of the email and not in the abstract to be sent as an attachment; 
– Proposals must be sent in word format to: teatroromano@museudelisboa.pt 

Proposals will be examined by the Congress Scientific Committee and decisions announced by 13 February 2025. The accepted posters must be delivered a week before the congress.The characteristics relating to the formatting of the posters will be provided when communicating the submission results.  

Communications and posters will be published in SCAENA – Revista do Museu de Lisboa - Teatro Romano, in the 2026 volume with the papers of the Congress. 
  
The International Congress Roman Temples in Lusitania will feature the participation of several researchers specialized in the topic, seeking to contemplate the temples known in this Roman province. Cross-cutting aspects of this type of buildings will also be addressed.
