Aqva sobre Água

30 Sep 2018 — 24 Feb 201910h – 18h

Water shaped the fate of the city of Lisbon. Without it, the city would not have become what it is today and its history would have taken a very different path. The exhibition AQVA sobre ÁGUA was inspired by this geographic and material determinism.

To explore the topic, the Museum of Lisbon - Roman Theatre, which faces the river and interacts with it, exhibited the work of visual artist Lourdes Fisa and photographs of aqueducts and other engineering resources captured by photographer Pedro Inácio.

Aqueducts, the pinnacle of Roman engineering, are a wonderful artistic token of times past. They are the source of so many other modern, contemporary aqueducts that shape our landscape today.
