Holidays at the Museum ● September

As the words sung by Anita Guerreiro and Amália say, ‘Lisbon smells of flowers and the sea.’ This is the verse that provides the title and theme for these summer holidays at the Museum of Lisbon.

Just like the other senses, smell allows us to understand our surroundings. We inevitably pick up odours and aromas, and a good nose recognises many different notes – fresh and light or denser. Before returning to school, we invite the little ones to stick their noses into games, creative activities, sensory walks and various activities, the main theme of which is the importance of smell and how we relate to nature. The aim is to raise awareness and stimulate interest in preserving the environment and the city's plant heritage, remaining conscious of the sustainability of natural resources.
