Lisbon on the March ● Alfama

On this walking tour, the Museum of Lisbon showcases the preparations for the Santo António festivities, highlighting the Popular Marches of Lisbon, their importance for the neighbourhoods of the city, as well as the work that is done in the months preceding the festivities in many communities, especially in the Alfama neighbourhood.

In partnership with the Parish Council of Santa Maria Maior, this tour includes a visit to the Cultural Centre Dr. Magalhães Lima, at the heart of Alfama. Magalhães Lima, the heart of the Alfama March.

 

Neste percurso, o Museu de Lisboa mostra a preparação das festas de Santo António, dando destaque às Marchas Populares de Lisboa, à sua importância para os bairros da cidade, assim como ao trabalho que se desenvolve, ao longo dos meses que antecedem as festas nas muitas coletividades, em particular no bairro de Alfama.

Neste percurso, em parceria com a Junta de Freguesia de Santa Maria Maior, visita-se o Centro Cultural Dr. Magalhães Lima, o coração da Marcha de Alfama.
