Catalogue launch

The 36 artists showcased in the exhibition «Artists on stage at the Roman Theatre» are the protagonists of its catalogue, that will be launched on November 15, at the Museum of Lisbon – Roman Theatre.

In addition to the biographies of these artists - who live, were born or work in the territory surrounding the Roman Theatre -, the catalogue includes articles on artists and artistic production in Roman times and the territory in which the scenic monument was implanted in the 1st century. The narratives of the artists who continue today to create in this emblematic space of the city, weaves the connection to contemporary production in an almost direct speech.

The catalogue features texts by Carolina Grilo, Lídia Fernandes and Patrícia Brum, archaeologists at the Museum of Lisbon – Roman Theatre, and by Daniela Araújo, an anthropologist at the Museum of Lisbon.

The presentation of the book will be followed by a concert by João Pimentel (guitar), one of the artists represented in the exhibition, and Ana Baptista (vocals).
