Scriptorium

A workshop in artistic expression, inspired by the art of illumination as practiced by medieval scribe-monks. 

What is a scriptorium? In the Middle Ages lies the origin of this enigma and it is this discovery that we pursue in the workshop. Related to the art of making books at that time, we learn what the scriptorium was and how it was used by the scribe-monks.

Using various materials and instruments, we talk about how the first books were made, comparing them with those of today. How different were they?
