The Museum of Lisbon is marking Scientific Culture Week with a series of activities on 25 and 26 November aimed at awakening interest in science.
Scientific Culture Week is celebrated on the occasion of National Scientific Culture Day, established in 1996 in Portugal on 24 November, the day on which Rómulo de Carvalho, a physics and chemistry teacher responsible for promoting science teaching and scientific culture in our country, was born. Rómulo de Carvalho was also a poet who worked under the pseudonym António Gedeão.
The 25 and 26 November are a unique opportunity to visit the old Military Maintenance Mill and discover one of the most unique examples of Lisbon's industrial heritage, while also learning how to dig like a real archaeologist and explore the biodiversity of the Pimenta Palace gardens.
