Bunch will be at Culturgest, on January 7, 2023, for a conference dedicated to the theme «Racism in the public square: the role of museums in difficult but necessary conversations» followed, on January 9th, by a symposium with the theme Settling accounts with racism: the social memory of the slave trade, which will take place at MUHNAC-ULisboa.
Both events are presented in collaboration with the Museu de História Natural e da Ciência da Universidade de Lisboa, the Museum of Lisbon, Culturgest, Acesso Cultura, Batoto Yetu Portugal and the Slave Wrecks Project, an international network hosted by the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC.
With simultaneous translation, both events are free of charge, but the symposium requires prior registration through this link.
