On the exact day marking 200 years since the death of Joaquim Machado de Castro, Ana Duarte Rodrigues, co-curator of the exhibition O Virtuoso Criador (Lisbon, Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, 2012) and assistant professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, will share her vast knowledge of the sculptor and his work in the city of Lisbon.

The works of Machado de Castro are numerous and pose many questions, making him not only one of the greatest names in sculpture in Lisbon and one of the most discussed and closely studied.
