Our guest this session is Djaimilia Pereira de Almeida, author of fourteen books, including the novels That Hair, Luanda, Lisboa, Paraíso, As Telefones, Três Histórias de Esquecimento and Ferry.

About the author

Djaimilia Pereira de Almeida teaches at New York University and her work has been published in magazines and newspapers such as serrote, Granta, Folha de S. Paulo, ZUM, la Repubblica, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, among other publications, and has been translated into ten languages.

Her books and essays have won the Oceanos Prize, the Serrote Essay Prize, the Inês de Castro Foundation Literary Prize, the Eça de Queiroz Foundation Literary Prize, the First Theses Prize, and the FLUL Alumni Prize, awarded by the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon.
